Inspired by the mid-century “flying duck” trios often seen on grandparents’ walls, but with a distinctly Australian twist.
The five superb fairywrens look perfectly balanced as a set, or buy more to create your own exuberant flock!
We know you’d normally only get one blue-plumaged male in a flock, but we think there would be disappointment if your wall flock replicated that, so Bridget made two blues for this display. Which male is the interloper of this group?!
Did you know, what we often think of as the brown females are quite often males in non-breeding plumage? The young boys stick around and help raise the family of subsequent broods. There’s often actually only one female in the little family flocks. You can choose which one is the queen bee!
Each set includes five wooden birds, with illustrations taken from Bridget’s original etchings and digitally recreated on certified responsibly sourced plywood.
The set contains nails for attaching, though adhesive picture hanging strips (not included) are a great alternative for renters.
Perfect for adding a playful touch of the bush to any home, or as a thoughtful gift for someone who loves Australia’s colourful birdlife.
We often get asked if they are suitable for outside use. We've found that as long as they are under cover and away from moisture they work, although in time the colours may fade if in direct sunlight.
